Margaret Atwood Writing Tips, 'The Substance' VFX Breakdown, and Danny McBride's Idea Machine

Hey Filmmakers,

You’re back! We’re glad you are because we want you to start your week off right with some helpful craft articles that will hopefully inspire and motivate you.

First up—our main feature showcases writing advice from legendary The Handmaid’s Tale author Margaret Atwood. If you’re a fan of hers…or just a living, breathing writer who wants to write better, you’ll want to take a look. Also, we go behind the scenes of The Substance to see how the VFX were made, and Danny McBride explains why he’s so good at turning his ideas into great shows.

Let’s get to it!

So, how did she do it? How does a writer of her caliber get to that level? Continue on to find out.
