Canon Unveils EOS R50 V, Rob Lowe’s LA Woes, and Best Plot Twists

Hey Readers,

Welcome back to another busy week in the film industry! We’ve got a lot to cover, from studies that revealed the true desires of movie-goers to Canon’s highly anticipated unveiling of its tiny EOS R50 V camera.

But before we get to numbers and figures and cool cameras, our main story today is about how insanely expensive it is to shoot a film in LA – so expensive, in fact, that you might as well fly your crew to the moon and shoot it there. Oh, you think I’m being dramatic? Well, I am, but Rob Lowe recently shared a story on his podcast that basically says as much (just not with the “moon” stuff).

Anyway, let’s get to it! 🚀

We all know it’s as expensive as hell living in LA, but ask a filmmaker — so is shooting movies and TV shows here. How expensive, you ask? Just ask Rob Lowe. Adam Scott joined Rob Lowe on his podcast recently, and the two Parks and Rec alumni got to chatting about their current projects. It turns out, Rob Lowe's game show, The Floor, shoots in Ireland because it's cheaper to fly people there than it is to shoot in LA. In fact, Lowe goes on to say that LA sound stages are completely empty.

What’s going on here? We go over it below:
